The infection pressure and thus some pathogens animals carry with them increase as the animal ages. This may not always be bad for the animal and are not always visible, but bacteria that have less effect on mature animals may have major implications for young animals. Therefore, it is important to transfer pathogens from one animal to another.
A major threat to the transmission of pathogens includes personal actions, cleaning attributes and other tools in the shed. Through a colour system, personal protective equipment, cleaning products and other attributes can be separated from each animal group or department given that each animal group or department uses its colour. Think of boots, overalls, shovels, brooms and buckets.
Tip: Start the day with the youngest and most sensitive animals, in this case, the germ pressure is the lowest, for which fewer diseases are transferred to the next group.
