Water is the means of transport agent in the removal of dirt. Therefore, when spray cleaning sheds a pressure washer is often used, this allows for a quick and proper cleaning. MS Schippers offers a wide range of pressure washers and related components. In our web shop, we have several types of HD cleaners and high-pressure pumps. The corresponding on/off buttons, spray lances, high-pressure hoses, and nozzles must be ordered separately.
What should I, as a livestock farmer, look for when selecting a high-pressure washer?
The pressure alone does not say much. Every machine that delivers between 150 and 200 bar, meets the standards. The amount of water, which propels the machine, is more important. The coil capacity is at least 500 and is up to 2,400 litres of water per hour. Most sheds become clean at 200 bar and 1,000 litres per hour.
Hot or cold
Heat has a positive impact on the cleaning with water. The hotter the water, the more dirt will come off. However, heat is not recommended in combination with a foaming cleaning agent. The foam comes into its own with cold water; it is better to wash away the foam with hot water. Hot water is not always available in a shed and also the steam development is very difficult in which to work. One can achieve more with a good cleaning agent, than with hot water.
