Wherever work is being done, mistakes are being made, and an accident is often right around the corner. Protect your head against impact and falling objects. We offer various forms of comfortable protective headgear. In conjunction with various accessories, your ears, eyes, and face can also be protected.
There are many kinds of safety helmets made from different materials and they vary accordingly in quality. So what are the hallmarks of a high-quality safety helmet that can guarantee proper head protection?
1. CE marking and date of manufacture:
Both must be present on the helmet. The CE marking indicates that the helmet meets the environmental, health, and safety requirements. The date of production also acts as a means of determining the quality of the protective headgear.
2. Useful life of the helmet:
This depends on the material. A helmet made from fibreglass-reinforced polyester, polycarbonate, or phenolic material lasts around ten years. A helmet made of ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) lasts for 5 years (better helmets are made of this). A helmet made of Polyethylene only lasts about three years.
3. Resilience of the safety helmet:
Good helmet resilience can be essential for the head and neck. It is also important to check whether there is any damage to the inside or outside of the helmet. Of course, it is important to be sure that the straps close properly around the head.
Furthermore, for all types of helmets, it is important that they are not left out for extended periods in full sun as this is associated with increased deterioration of the material.
We recommend a Peltor brand safety helmet. Our assortment includes Peltor helmets with and without CE certification.
